With us at the MEG: I am master student from the University of Urbino where I study chemistry and pharmaceutical technology.

In my thesis project I analyze the persistence of antibiotic resistance genes located on plasmids in the fraction of free-DNA in the lake environment. I study the degradation of this DNA due to enzyme excretion and other environmental condition.

Furthermore, I study the transformation of natural lake bacteria with this free plasmid under different degrees of anthropogenic pollution and antibiotic stress.
